Rauschgoldengel (Gold foil Angel)

This decoration started in the 17 th century in Nuernberg. The story is, that this angel represents the Christ Child. The angels are made in any shapes and sizes, with long white hair, pleated skirts and folded tops in gold foil. decorated with golden braids. Most have wings, some have crowns. The more modern ones have arms, the original angels had no arms.
