[edit] Introduction
For many centuries there were large German settlements in many European Regions, especially in eastern Europe.
During the last 200 to 300 years many of the political borders have been changed. Many States have been established only recently, while others, because of political reasons became extinct. It is very important to study the border changes in detail in order to search in the proper places.
