Name

Meaning of the Name

The name refers to a sentry or a hunting ground.

  • Old-Prussian "schaudit, šaudit" = shoot
  • Prussian- Lithuanian "šaudyti" = to shoot at each other
  • "šaudytojas" = marksman, hunter,archer
