Using FONT-Tags in Wiki pages is not a very good suggestions. The FONT-Tag is an old, outdated HTML-element, which might be dropped in soon forthcoming releases of HTML and Mediawiki. Fonts are handled in modern webdesign technologies outside the HTML-Code by CSS descriptions. So, four our Wiki it is definitly the better choice to keep the pages without FONT-Tags viewable and try to keep the Wiki source as easy as possible (There is a so called Kiss-Principle in IT-development existing; KISS - keep it small and simple). This will also to help other users more to create Wiki-content, as its much easier for them to contribute to existing articles, when easy syntax is used. --kpwessel 16:00, 28 Oct 2004 (CEST)

  • I completely agree with you Klaus- Peter, that's always my goal too. However, is it allowed to use a colored font with css ( just to dress up things a bit) or should we forget about it completely ?
  • Is it possible to use complete style- sheets in WIKI and just refer to it like in PHP ( include, etc)--wolf 19:19, 28 Oct 2004 (CEST)

Sorry, I overlooked your changes with the fonts and added the "RED" D again.. Well I removed it now.. ;-) --wolf 16:20, 28 Oct 2004 (CEST)

Hello, I have also removed the font-tag for the color. Instead of this you can use also an CSS as Peter explained. The layout has`nt changed. --WGRichter 18:53, 28 Oct 2004 (CEST)

  • Thanks, Willy, yes I am working on it already... just 26 letters is a lot at a time  ;-( --wolf 19:19, 28 Oct 2004 (CEST)

Maybe that simple sites are important for the users of GenWiki but I think also it is important that the result is viewable. It think your sites with your table-design are very attractive and it is a typical case for tables. I like your design!!--WGRichter 18:59, 28 Oct 2004 (CEST)
